About Chonkat
So, what is the story behind this clothing brand? To be honest, it's somewhat depressing, but bear with me.
2011 was the year a certain cat named Minnie was born. For the first few months of her life, she was malnourished, mistreated, and really not treated like the princess she was. Then my mum and I came around, adopted, and made Minnie go Maxi. She embodied what being in our household meant: chubby with an interest in books, so she quickly became the family mascot. We had some good times Minnie and I - whether we fought over food or indulged in our favorite pastime together, loafing.
Unfortunately, she passed away in 2022 due to a rare form of cancer. With her loss, a significant number of people paid their respects to the princess. Touched by their kindness, I thought, why not gift my friends and family a piece of Mini memorabilia? So, I slapped Minnie’s cutest face into a wearable design. People loved it.
Minnie’s cuteness was infectious, and soon enough, we expanded to more kitties that would make people smile. We have cat artwork, logos, and more!
So that's how Chonkat came to be! Named after my own chonky fat cat! Now that you know our story, we hope you’ll add to the good vibes needed to continue Minnie’s and all fat cats’s legacies.
